BARC stands for Bhabha Atomic Research Centre. Every year it conducts BARC exams for filling up the posts of Trainee Scientific Officers (OCES/DGFS). The BARC Exam is conducted after the GATE exam every year in multiple shifts according to the field of study. BARC also accepts GATE scores. The selected candidates will have to undergo training of 1 year at BARC Training School as Trainee Scientific Officers. BARC 2022 Notification

  1. The official notification for the Scientific and Technical officer from BARC is yet to be released but is expected to be released in March 2022.
  2. The tentative date for conducting BARC Exam 2022 is expected to be in June or July 2022.

BARC Application form 2022

The application form for BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre) Exam DGFS and OCES registration 2022 has been already started from January 18, 2022. All the aspiring, interested, and eligible candidates can visit the BARC official website to apply for the OCES (Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates) and DGFS 2022 (DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates and Physics Postgraduates). The last date to get yourself registered as well to submit the application form is February 12, 2022. 

Note: The candidates who have already qualified GATE will be called for the Interview session directly, and the final merit list of BARC Recruitment 2022 will be released on the BARC official website.

BARC 2022 Admit Card

All the candidates who have successfully applied will be issued with admit card of BARC 2022, which will be available on the official website of the BARC exam, which is www.barconlineexam.in. If any candidate is without the admit card on the day of the exam, then that candidate would not be allowed to enter the examination hall and sit for the exam. All candidates must check their details in the admit card related to the BARC 2022 exam center, like address, date, and time slot of the exam.

BARC 2022 Result

The result declaration date of the BARC 2022 will be announced soon by BARC. The results of the examination will be announced in the form of a merit list. The candidates can also check their scorecards by logging into their accounts on the official website. Candidates will be shortlisted for the next round, after the announcement of the result. The next round will be a selection interview.

Eligibility for BARC 2022 examination

EDUCATIONAL ELIGIBILITY

The eligibility criteria for BARC 2022 are in different categories or disciplines in DGFS/OCES. All the details for eligibility are given below:

1. Chemistry 

The Candidates should hold M.Sc.(Master of Science) in Chemistry along with Physics till B.Sc. or at ancillary or subsidiary level if candidate pursued 5 years of Integrated B.E./B.Tech or M.Sc. and must have maths at 12th class or in B.Sc. or at ancillary or subsidiary level of candidate pursued 5 years of Integrated M.Sc with a minimum aggregate of 60%. 

All the other aspiring candidates, i.e., except the candidates who are applying with a 5 year M.Sc.degree, should have a minimum aggregate of 60% in B.Sc. And those candidates who are applying on the basis of the GATE Score must have a valid score in chemistry in GATE 2020 OR GATE 2019.

2. Physics

Those applicants applying in physics discipline should have an M.Sc. degree in Applied Physic or Physics along with Maths and Physics at subsidiary/ancillary or B.Sc level. If the candidate has pursued 5-year of Integrated B.E./B.Tech or M.Sc in Engineering Physics with a minimum aggregate of 60% in the respective qualifying degree.

Those candidates who have done M.Sc and are other than that application who are enrolling with M.Sc. degree of 5 years must additionally have a minimum aggregate of 60% in B.Sc level.

Physics Postgraduate candidates who enrolled and who are to be qualified on the basis of GATE examination score must have a valid Physics score in GATE 2020 or GATE 2019. Candidates who hold B.Tech/ B.E. degree in engineering physics can also apply on the basis of GATE score but with a valid GATE 2020 or GATE 2019 score.

3. Engineering 

The candidates who are of Engineering discipline should have B.Tech/B.Sc/B.E. (Engineering) or a 5-year Integrated M.Sc degree with a minimum aggregate of 60%. Also, the candidates who are opting to be qualified on the basis of the GATE score must have a valid score in GATE 2020 or GATE 2019.

Those candidates who possess any of the degrees which are listed below are not eligible to enroll for the BARC exam.

Automobile, Aerospace, Communication, Industrial Production, Reliable, Ceramics, Architecture, Geology, Automotive, Mining, Bio-Medical Electronics/Instruments, Information Technology, Energy Systems, Master of Computer Applications, Sugar Technology, Dyes & Dye Intermediaries, Textiles and Mechatronics, Electrochemical, Oils & Fats, Paints & Varnishes, Petrochemicals, Plastics, Paper.

4. Fast Reactor Technology-E

Those candidates who want to apply for Fast Reactor Technology-E must be holding B.Tech/B.Sc/B.E. (Engineering) or 5-year Integrated M.Sc degree with a minimum aggregate of 60% in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.

5. Fast Reactor Technology-M

Those candidates who want to apply for Fast Reactor Technology-M must be holding B.Tech/B.Sc/B.E. (Engineering) or 5-year Integrated M.Sc degree with a minimum aggregate of 60% in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

6. Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA & QC)

Those candidates who want to apply for Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA & QC) must be holding B.Tech/B.Sc/B.E. (Engineering) or 5-year Integrated M.Sc degree with a minimum aggregate of 60% in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.

7.BioScience

In the Bioscience discipline, the applications should have a degree of M.Sc in Molecular Biology, Agriculture, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Botany, Plant Pathology, Zoology, Biotechnology, Animal Sciences, Plant Science, Plant Breeding, Entomology, Food Technology, Biomedical Sciences, Biosciences, Life Sciences with a sure minimum aggregate of 60% B.Sc. as well as in M.Sc OR

The candidate should hold B.Tech/B.Sc (Tech.)B.E., especially in Food Technology with minimum aggregate marks of 60%.

Students of M.Sc should have at least one of Chemistry or Physics or Agriculture Chemistry or Biochemistry subjects at the B.Sc level or the ancillary or subsidiary level. In the case of applicants who are enrolling with an Integrated M.Sc. degree of 5 years, also, the candidates who are opting to be qualified on the basis of the GATE score must have a valid score in life sciences or biotechnology in GATE 2020 or GATE 2019.

Those candidates who have an M.Sc degree in subjects like Fisheries, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Agronomy, Bio-Informatics, Bio-Analytical Sciences, Life Sciences, and Marine Biology are not eligible to apply for the BARC examination.

8. Radiological Safety and Environmental Science (RSES)

The candidate who is applying in Radiological Safety and Environmental Science (RSES) should hold a B.Tech/B.E. in Nuclear Technology/Nuclear Science & Technology/Nuclear Engineering with minimum aggregate marks of 60%. OR

Must have done M.Sc degree in Chemistry or Physics with Chemistry and Physics up to B.Sc. level or at the ancillary or subsidiary level in case of applicants who are enrolling with integrated M.Sc. degree of 5 years and Maths at Class 12th level or B.Sc level or at an ancillary or subsidiary level in case of applicants who are enrolling with integrated M.Sc. degree of 5 years must have a minimum aggregate mark of 60% in M.Sc.

9. Geology Discipline

The candidates who are applying in Geology Discipline should hold an M.Sc or equivalent M.tech degree in Applied Geology/Applied Geochemistry/Geology with Geology subject at B.Sc level or have done 5 years of integrated M.Tech in Geological Technology.

All the eligible candidates must have at least 2 subjects from Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry up to B.Sc level or at ancillary or subsidiary level in case of 5-year integrated M.Tech/M.Sc.

All eligible candidates (except the ones who are applying with a 5-year integrated M.Tech/ M.Sc degree) must have minimum aggregate marks of 60% in B.Sc.

In addition to the above criteria, all eligible candidates must have passed mathematics in class 12th level. All the candidates who are to be qualified on the basis of the GATE examination score must have a valid score in Geology and Geophysics in GATE 2020 or GATE 2019.

10. Geophysics Discipline

Candidates who are applying for the geophysics discipline should be having an M.Sc degree in Applied Geophysics/Geophysics or 5-years integrated M.Tech degree in Geophysical Technology. All the eligible candidates must have Mathematics subject till B.Sc level, or at ancillary or subsidiary level in case of 5-year integrated M.tech/M.Sc with minimum aggregate marks of 60% in M.Tech/M.Sc.

Also, all the eligible candidates must have a minimum of aggregate marks of 60% in B.Sc, who are to be qualified on the aggregate GATE examination score must have a valid score in Geology and Geophysics in GATE 2020 or GATE 2019.

Note: Candidates having a Ph.D. or M.Sc by (research) are ineligible to enroll for the BARC exam 2022.

10. For Admission to DGFS

All the aspiring candidates who want to get admitted in DGFS must have a qualifying degree in 21-28 or 41 as mentioned in the notification and who meet the corresponding eligibility criteria as mentioned above. They are eligible to secure admission for M.tech/M.Chem. Engineering.

Nationality

All candidates who are registering for the BARC 2022 examination must be citizens of India.

Age Limit

The age limit as of August 1, 2022, for applying for courses under BARC 2022 varies for different categories is listed below: 

General: 26years

OBC: 29 years 

SC/ST: 31 years 

Dependent of those who died in 1984 riots: 31years

Persons domiciled in Kashmir division of J&K: 31 years 

Note: Those candidates who are Physically Challenged have a relaxation of 10 years in all the categories.

The application process for BARC Exam 2022

A step-by-step application process has been given below to help you to apply to BARC 2022 Examination:

Step 1: All the candidates will have to visit the official website of the BARC 2022 Exam i.e

Step 2: In the next step, all candidates have to click on the Apply Online button,  and then a new page will appear in which you have to fill in the appropriate information like personal details, i.e., Name, Mother’s name, date of birth, email id and all the other information.

Step 3: Now, as you are successfully registered, registered candidates will receive a One Time Password on their registered mobile number, or they will get an activation link on the registered email address. To validate the account, they can use any one mode.

Step 4: After activation, the candidate can begin to fill out their application form. They will also be required to upload images of their passport-sized photos and signatures. It should be noted that the size of the images should be below 50 KB for the photograph and below 20 KB for the signature.

Step 5: After step 4, the candidate will have to pay the application fee for the BARC examination, which is INR 500/. Exam fees can only be paid using online modes like credit card/debit card/internet banking.

Step 6: After successfully paying fees, the candidate will receive a unique registration number(UIN). This number is essential for all kinds of future actions.

Note: The candidates who are going to apply through their GATE score will have to submit their scores of GATE 2020. Also, only the candidates who want to be evaluated on the basis of the GATE 2019 score have to give the details about GATE 2019 score while applying for BARC 2022 exam.

BARC 2022 Selection Process

The selection of the candidates is made on the basis of marks scored in the BARC online exam and Personal Interview. A merit list is made based on which candidates are offered posts. The following are the stages or steps of the selection process of BARC 2022 recruitment:

First Stage

1. Online Exam: On the Basis of the Online Exam

  • Candidates will have to appear for an online exam.

2. Online Exam: On the Basis of the GATE Score
