India has a wide population below the poverty line, having a lack of finances even for special occasions. Many Poor People are not able to marry their girl child due to lack of money, and they cannot afford the expenses of marriage. To tackle this situation, The Central Government and the many State Governments introduced the UP Shadi Anudan Yojana for the welfare of poor girls.

UP Shadi Anudan Yojana 2022

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mr Yogi Adityanath introduced the scheme to financially help poor families to marry their girls. In this scheme, the UP Government is providing Rs.51000 to every Family who is unable to bear the expenses of marriage functions for their daughters. This is to ensure that no daughter of Uttar Pradesh remains unmarried just because of a shortage of finance. This is a great scheme initiated by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Key Pointers of this scheme:-

  • Valid for only two daughters in a family.
  • Financial help will be provided only to the families which are below the poverty line.
  • On the date of marriage, the age of the Bride should be 18 or above.
  • On the date of marriage, the age of the Groom should be 21 or above.

Event under UP Shadi Anudan Yojana

A Mass Marriage Programme under the Shadi Anudan Yojana is proposed to be held this year in the Gariaband district on 19th February 2022. The interesting couples who are willing to join the programme can register themselves at the respective Integrated Child Development Project Offices at different places. Interested couples can visit for the registration or any information to these Integrated Child Development Project Offices at Chhara, Phingeshwar, Gariaband, Manipur and, Devbhog. The last date for the registration is 5th February 2022.

The Objective of this Event

This event has been proposed with the motive of addressing the Financial difficulties caused due to the Marriage of the girl child.

Also, this event will help in reducing the Wasteful expenditure on the occasion of Marriage.

Simple Marriage is being promoted through this event, and only two daughters of each family can be part of this event.

How to Apply For UP Shadi Anudan Yojana

Any beneficiary of Uttar Pradesh who seeks help from the State Government for the Financial Help has to register and apply online through the official website. Only those families which come below the poverty line are eligible to apply for this scheme. 

Eligibility for the Benefit of the Scheme

  • The Families should be below the poverty line.
  • The Annual Income of the Rural Family should be Rs. 46080 or less.
  • The Annual Income of the Urban family should be Rs. 56460 or less.
  • The age of the girl should be 18 or more and the age of the boy should be 21 or more on the day of Marriage.

The Motive of UP Shadi Anudan Yojana

The families of Uttar Pradesh who are not well settled and don’t have enough funds to get their daughters married, UP Government is helping those families financially so that they can marry their daughters, and no daughter of Uttar Pradesh remains Unmarried just because of lack of funds. This Scheme includes different castes having annual income below the poverty line. This Scheme provides financial assistance to the girls belonging to Scheduled Caste, Minority Section, Economically Weaker General Category, and, Other Backward Class Families. The Motive behind this scheme is to change the negative thinking about girls and their financial background.

Details of the Scheme

Under the Up Shadi Anudan Scheme 2022, the funds that are to be provided for financial assistance to the girls of the weaker sections will be credited to the bank account of the applicant of the scheme. So, the applicant must have a bank account to get the benefit of the Anudan scheme. The Applicant should have a National Bank Account only. The Amount for the Financial assistance of Rs.51000 will be provided in the bank account of the applicant for the Marriage expenses of the girl. 

This amount can be debited from the account at the time of marriage only. According to UP Shadi Anudan Scheme, the application for assistance will only be accepted up to 90 days before or 90 days after the Marriage.

Also, under this scheme, girls will be provided Medical Facilities along with grants.
