ESE 2022 APPLY ONLINE

To apply online for ESE 2022 you  will first have to do ESE 2022 registration  follow these steps:

  1. Go to the UPSC website i.e UPSConline.nic.in
  2. After that, click on the “online recruitment form” for the UPSC exam.
  3. A new page will open, now you to click on “click here for part 1” which will be near the Engineering Services (Preliminary / Stage I) Examination column.
  4. A new tab/page will appear which will state the necessary instructions to fill the form. 
  5. Now, you will have to read the given instructions carefully and click on “YES”.
  6. Now, a new tab will appear where you have to fill in all the details which include uploading your documents. So upload all the documents.
  7. Now, click on “SUBMIT” and repeat the same process for registration of the second part.

Note: It is necessary to fill both the parts, otherwise the candidate will not be registered for the ESE 2022 exam. So fill both the parts for getting registered successfully.

How much Fees will you have to pay for ESE 2022?

Aspirants are needed to pay INR 200 as UPSC IES Application Fee. Female candidates and candidates belonging to reserved Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Persons with Disability do not have to pay any fee.

UPSC ESE 2022 Eligibility Criteria 

All the aspiring candidates who want to appear in the UPSC ESE Exam 2022 should make sure that they fulfill eligible for the post by checking the given eligibility criteria. The application of candidates can be rejected at any point of time during the selection procedure if it is found that they are not fulfilling the necessary criteria to hold a post in UPSC Engineering Services.   1. Educational qualification:
  • The candidates who want to give the exam must have an Engineering degree from a university recognized by other educational institutions or an act of the state or central legislature in India established by Parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under section-3 of the university grants commission act, 1956 
  • or The candidate who has qualified for Institution Examinations of the Engineers’ section A and B 
  • or The candidate who has obtained a diploma/degree in Engineering from a foreign College/Institution/University, under such conditions as the university must be recognised by the Government for the purpose from time to time or qualified Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India) Graduate Membership Examination.

  • Also, The candidate who has qualified the Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III 

or 

  • The candidate who has completed and holds a graduate degree/membership of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, examination, London which are held after the year 1959. The candidates holding membership before that period are not eligible.
  •  If a candidate for the post of Indian Naval Armament Service (Engineer Group ‘A’ and Electronics Engineering Posts) and in Wireless Planning and Coordination Wing/Monitoring Organization) may hold any of the above qualifications or the qualification mentioned below namely:
    • If a candidate wants to go for Indian Naval Armament Service(Electronics Engg. Posts), he/she must have completed an M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics, or Radio Engineering as a special subject.
    • For Indian Radio Regulatory Service – M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a subject or Master’s Degree in Science with Physics and Radio Communication or Electronics or Telecommunication as a special subject.

2. Age limit for UPSC ESE

The minimum age for appearing in the ESE 2022 examination is 21 and the maximum age must be equal to or under 30 years as of January 1, 2022. 

3. Nationality

The third eligibility criterion is the Nationality of the candidate. So for appearing in the ESE examination the candidate must be:

  1. A citizen of India OR
  2. The subject of Bhutan OR
  3. The subject of Nepal OR
  4. People of Indian origin who are from Sri Lanka, Uganda, Pakistan, Burma, Vietnam, Zambia, Tanzania, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Kenya.
  5. A refugee who migrated to India from Tibet before 1 January 1962

Note: All the aspiring candidates should have a certificate of Eligibility which must be issued by the GOI(Government of India).

Exam Pattern of UPSC Prelims

UPSC ESE 2022 Prelims Exam will be commenced on February 20, 2022.

All the Candidates must be well confident to appear in the exam as they will be eligible for further selection rounds only after qualifying this round. The prelims exam will be an objective i.e.(Multiple Choice Questions) paper and will be conducted offline in the exam centre. It will consist of two papers and the answers which will be marked wrong by candidates will give negative marking to them.
